Samer is currently leading two research groups:

1. Web Aplications Security Testing (WAST) Research Group

This group aims at finding novel approaches for assessing the security quality attribute for Web applications, specifically; analyzing the client side user input semantics for a Web application in order to reach for the optimal way to test such input using different testing techniques.

Special interest is given for assessing the Web applications with an Arabic interface.

WAS contains the following people

- Dr. Samer Hanna (leader)

- Saeb Sisan (Lecturer at the IT Faculty Philadelphia University)

- Hayat Jaber (Master student at the IT Faculty Philadelphia University)

- Emad Al Sheak (Lecturer at Jazan university in Saudi Arabia)

WAS is currently working on the Philadelphia funded project:

"Enhanced User-Input-Validation Testing for Web Applications

New master students and also academic staff are welcome to join this group.

2. Software Engineering Education (SEE) Research Group

This group aims at enhancing SE curricula at the Jordanian University by adding more courses related to the mostly needed skills by the Jordanian and Gulf area software industry.

This group consists of the following people:

- Dr. Samer Hanna (leader)

- Hayat Jaber (Master student at the IT Faculty Philadelphia University)
