HEALTH PLANNING

This course covers the basic concepts and principles of the health planning process. Topics covered include: needs assessment, program planning, and implementation and evaluation of public health interventions and programs. The use of quantitative and qualitative data is discussed. Examples are drawn from health education, health promotion, disease prevention and community health services. Students can expect to identify a health problem in a community, describe it, develop a program to address the issue, and evaluate it from a formative and summative perspective.

OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY MANAGEMENT

This Occupational and Environmental Safety Management course equips students with the knowledge and skills to develop, implement, and manage effective safety programs. Students will explore best practices for identifying and mitigating hazards in the workplace and environment, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, best practices, and promoting a culture of safety. Hospital safety management becomes an essential responsibility of hospital managers because of countless hazards and safety risks. As the public becomes more familiar and aware of such risks, they demand such safety and security requirements in hospitals. This course will help students understand hospitals' hazards and safety. This course will provide a strong foundation for learning the components of a safe hospital. It describes how safety and security can be ensured in a hospital. It also speaks about occupational health and safety risks in hospitals and healthcare institutions. Also, it allows one to understand safety management tools that can help with risk identification and mitigation.

HEALTH CARE ORGANIZATION MANAGEMENT

This course serves as an introduction to hospital management. It is designed to focus on general principles of management and organization in public and private healthcare settings. The course examines the planning, organizing, leading, controlling, and delivering health services, emphasizing major current health systems, managed care, and health management issues related to access, quality, and cost.
