I am a geriatric physical therapist, completed Master of Physiotherapy with specialization in Geriatrics and Gerontology from Meenakshi Academy of Higher Education and Research Institute, Chennai in 2006. I have acquired geriatric knowledge from Dr.V.S.Natarajan MD (Geriatrics),who is regarded as father of Geriatric Medicine in India during my master program and completed Doctor of Philosophy (Health Science) from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in 2018. During my PhD, i have received International Doctoral Fellowship Award (2015-2016), PhD Merit Thesis Award (2017), Certificate of Excellence Award (2017) and Best Postgraduate Student Award (2018).
I am the first male geriatric physiotherapist in India, enriched with 19 years of hands on experience in treating medical conditions of elderly. I had served as an Assistant Professor in Meenakshi College of Physiotherapy Hospital (2006-2008), Chennai. Then, moved to Malaysia and served as Lecturer (2008-2014), Senior Lecturer (2018-2021) and Deputy Dean (2018-2020) in School of Physiotherapy, AIMST University, Malaysia, Consultant Geriatric Physiotherapy Specialist/ Associate Professor at Melur Meadows Retirement Village Pvt Ltd, India and Invited faculty for Post-Graduate Diploma in Geriatric Care and Management, Department of Social Work, Bharathiar Unviersity, Coimbatore (2021-2022).
I have published numerous research articles in reputed journals of Elsevier, Springer, Wiley, and Sage publishers with a cumulative impact factor of 23.0 and also holds research grants from Bournemouth University, UK, Charusat University, India and Fundamental Research Grants Scheme, Ministry of Health, Malaysia. Currently, I serve as a founder of Healthy Ageing Tamil Nadu Foundation, India and as a Associate Porfessor of Physical Therapy, Department of Physical Therapy, Faculty of Allied Medical Science, Philadelphia University, Jordan
