Welcome to the Faculty of Nursing, Philadelphia University-Amman
Nurses have never had a greater impact on the process of health and healthcare service improvement and transformation than they did recently during the COVID-19 pandemic. Registered nurses account for nearly one-third of all healthcare providers worldwide, and they are among the fastest-growing professions through 2024 according to the national and international labor statistical reports. The nursing profession is expanding in multiple specialty areas as nursing science evolves, securing jobs for a large portion of the population. That’s why we believe that it is now is the best time to begin or advance in your nursing career.
Registered nurses care for individuals, families, and communities in almost every setting where health care is provided. This includes hospitals, long-term care facilities, ambulatory care settings, homes, schools, and workplaces. We are constantly challenged as registered nurses, nurse leaders, and nurse researchers to find new and better ways to provide safe, cost-effective, and high-quality care that results in better health outcomes.
Globally, health and healthcare services are heavily impacted by the ever evolving health problems and the current challenges at the individual, family and community levels. For example, people are living longer lives, and many of them are afflicted with chronic illnesses. Furthermore, people are more aware of their rights for quality care and thus seek quality service to promote their health. We are also challenged by the growing needs of vulnerable populations such as refugees. In brief, people are looking for reasonable, accessible and cost effective care that meet their specific needs.
For over two decades, the Faculty of Nursing in Philadelphia University aimed at preparing bachelor-level nurses to meet such challenges.
