Department of Accounting  is committed to the following objectives:

1. Providing students with both theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of Accounting
2. Focusing on practical applications in all education and learning aspects.
3. Providing students with abilities to grasp the various elements of Business environment and effectively dealing with it.
4. Developing students' skills, competencies, and Business ethics and standards in order to enhance their chances in leading successful careers within local and international levels.
5. Developing students' knowledge, and skills to obtain professional certificates in the field of Accounting

• Program Learning Outcomes:

Knowledge

Upon successful completion of this program the graduate will be able to:

1. Demonstrate awareness of accounting measurements and financial analysis reports in accordance with International Accounting Standards;
2. Demonstrate basic knowledge of auditing and control in accordance with International Auditing Standards
3. Clarify principles of cost in the manufacturing process and budgeting in various financial entities
4. Apply knowledge of tax laws and procedures to individuals and businesses
5. Elucidation of Business function areas and demonstrate the interrelatedness between Businesses and their environment.

       Skills

1. Upon successful completion of this program the graduate will be able to:
2. Communicate with others in an efficient and effective manner in both Arabic and English whether verbally or while writing reports and drafting presentations.
3. Employ technology in processes of data and information collection, analysis, and interpretation.
4. Utilising critical thinking capacity in managerial decision making and solving workforce as well as job-related problems and issues.

Competences

Upon successful completion of this program the graduate will be able to:

1. Formulate strategies and make decisions in line with the field’s ethical practices, sustainable development, and social responsibility associated with Business environment.
2. Develop professionalism through life-long learning and apply it via a worldly perspective and in diverse contexts.
3. Evaluate the Business function areas and their impact on sustainable performance and to appreciate the dynamic interrelationship between Business organisations and their external environments.

The Department offers a full range of courses which emphasize all issues related to employment in the accounting profession; great emphasis is also placed on the acquisition of skills (generic and specific) with the aim of maximizing employability.  

We are increasing the emphasis on areas such as auditing; taxation, financial analysis, information systems, management and policy. We believe these changes will provide our students with the opportunity to gain meaningful work experience prior to graduation.  

The Department employs highly qualified academic staff who focus on teamwork, technology and case studies in enhancing students' learning.

Objectives of Faculty of Business

1. To provide an opportunity for suitably qualified students to pursue Higher education in the fields of Business Administration, Accounting, Banking & Finance, Marketing, Business Networking and Systems Management, Hotel & Tourism Management, Hospital Management, and Library & Information Science.
2. To provide and maintain management structures which facilitate and encourage the process of learning and teaching.
3. To promote scholarly and research activities in Business Management and other fields of Financial Sciences.
4. To inculcate a spirit of team work and cooperation amongst staff, students and other participants in the Faculty.
5. To set and meet high standards in the provision of education and related activities through formal and systematic Quality Assurance procedures.
