Quality

Assurance

Committee

The Quality Assurance Committee has been tasked with organizing the work of the various committees in the Faculty of Science. Its responsibilities include: 

1- Supervising the distribution of the approved university quality assurance agenda to the academic departments within the faculty. 

2- Providing the Dean of the Faculty of Science with weekly reports on the progress of the work according to the approved university agenda. 

3- Compiling reports from the academic departments and committees at the faculty level, and then studying these reports to prepare a comprehensive report under the name of the Dean of the Faculty of Science. 

4- Monitoring the work of the various committees at the faculty level. 

5- Providing the needs and requirements of the college committees through the Dean's Office of the college.

Scientific

Research

Committee

The Scientific Committee works to facilitate and organize scientific research activities in the Faculty of Science through the following tasks: 

1- Organizing conferences, workshops, scientific seminars, and scientific weeks in coordination with department heads in the Faculty of Science. 

2- Providing opinions on research projects submitted for financial support purposes. 

3- Providing opinions on financial support requests for participating in conference attendance. 

4- Providing opinions on financial support requests for publishing in peer-reviewed scientific journals. 

5- Providing opinions on financial support requests for publishing prescribed books.

Curriculum

Committee

The Curriculum Committee in the Faculty of Science works on reviewing the proposed study plans for the academic departments through the following:

1- Reviewing the structure of the study plan and knowledge domains of the specialization based on the specific accreditation standards for the field.

2- Studying the numbering of the study plan according to the field, academic year, and semester. 

3- Studying the advisory plan for academic specializations in the Faculty of Science. 

4- Reviewing the study plans in both Arabic and English languages. 

5- Reviewing the course descriptions for the study plans according to the approved template. 

6- Reviewing the study plan template and course numbers in the major sheet model in both Arabic and English languages.

Resources,

Laboratories

Committee

1. Providing and updating scientific books, references, and multimedia materials.

2. Conducting periodic inventory of previously requested references, books, and multimedia materials.

3. Keeping abreast of new research, references, and scientific books for teaching purposes.

4. Ensuring the availability and dissemination of books to users.

5. Monitoring students' use of the library.

6. Coordinating with faculty members to emphasize the importance of utilizing available scientific references.

Academic

Advising

Committee

The Academic Guidance and Student Affairs Committee works on organizing the academic guidance and student affairs process in the Faculty of Science through the following: 

1. Organizing a meeting between the Dean, department heads, and faculty members with new students at the beginning of each semester. 

2. Creating bulletin boards and posters about the academic guidance process in the Faculty of Science, displayed in the announcement boards and corridors. 

3. Ensuring, in coordination with department heads and administrative staff in the Faculty of Science, that all registration-related forms are available at the Dean's Office and academic departments at the beginning of each semester. 

4. Collaborating with the Faculty of Science registrar to distribute the university student guide to new students in the Faculty of Science. 

5. Selecting students from the third or fourth year to assist in welcoming new students to the college. 

6. Organizing a lecture for new teachers, in coordination with department heads, about the academic guidance system at the university.

Seminars,

Scientific Day

Committee

The Scientific Day Committee is responsible for organizing the Scientific Day of the Faculty of Science through the following tasks: 

1. Setting the proposed date for the annual Scientific Day. 

2. Determining the topics for the Scientific Day. 

3. Providing financial and logistical support for organizing the Scientific Day through the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Science. 

4. Inviting specialized professors and scientists from outside the university to participate in the various topics of the Scientific Day. 

5. Inviting graduates of the academic departments in the Faculty of Science, as well as representatives from relevant companies and institutions, to attend. 

6. Seeking external sponsors to contribute to the funding of the event.

Website

Committee

The Website Committee is responsible for overseeing the website of the Faculty of Science and its academic departments through the following:

1. Designing the website for the college in coordination with the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Science.

2. Designing the websites for the academic departments in coordination with the department heads.

3. Regularly updating the websites of the college and academic departments.

4. Ensuring, in coordination with the department heads, the accuracy and reliability of the content displayed on the websites.

 5. Uploading announcements and materials related to the Faculty of Science and its academic departments onto the website.

 6. Considering the opinions and suggestions of the Faculty of Science students regarding the website and working on updating it to meet the needs and aspirations of the academic departments and students, at the end of each academic year.

Student

Affairs

Committee

The Student Discipline Committee is responsible for investigating violations committed by students within the buildings, facilities, laboratories, and classrooms belonging to the Faculty of Science. The committee operates as follows:

1. Conducting introductory lectures on the student discipline system, explaining the violations and penalties.

2. Reviewing complaints received through the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Science.

3. Determining the type of violation committed by the student and recommending the appropriate penalty to the Dean of the Faculty of Science, in accordance with the student discipline system of the university.

4. Recording the statements of the students during the investigation process and maintaining the confidentiality of the committee's work.

5. Encouraging colleagues in the Faculty of Science to guide students in improving their behavior within and outside the university campus through lectures and discussions.

Social

Committee

The Social Committee in the Faculty of Science works towards fostering love and social cohesion among the faculty, staff, and students through the following activities:

1. Contributing to the successful organization of the annual meeting between the dean and the faculty members at the beginning of each academic year.

2. Assisting in organizing the meeting between the dean, deputy dean, heads of academic departments, and faculty members with new students.

3. Organizing recognition and appreciation events for colleagues on special occasions.

4. Encouraging faculty and staff members to participate in celebrations and social gatherings.

5. Collaborating with all faculty and staff members in the college to participate in national events and celebrations.

The aim of these activities is to create a positive and supportive social environment within the Faculty of Science, promoting camaraderie and a sense of belonging among all members of the academic community.

Exams

Committee

The Examination Committee is responsible for the smooth conduct of mid-term and final exams in the Faculty of Science through the following tasks:

1. Developing an exam schedule in accordance with the university calendar and in coordination with other colleges.

2. Ensuring the availability of the correct answer key.

3. Establishing a monitoring program for the exams.

4. Monitoring the progress of the exams, identifying issues, and proposing appropriate solutions.

5. Ensuring that all exams undergo internal review by the examiner before being finalized.

6. Verifying the accuracy of printing and reproduction of the exams prior to the exam session.

7. Coordinating with relevant authorities for the disposal of necessary exam papers and college records.

8. Overseeing and monitoring the process of disposal.

The aim of the committee's efforts is to ensure the fairness, integrity, and security of the examination process, providing a conducive environment for students to demonstrate their knowledge and skills effectively.

Safety and

Security

Committee

The Safety and Security Committee at the Faculty of Science works to ensure the safety of individuals, buildings, and halls through the following:

1- Ensuring the safety of buildings and public facilities within the Faculty of Science in coordination with the Services Department and the Engineering Office at the university.

2- Ensuring the safety of study seats in classrooms at the beginning of each semester in coordination with the Maintenance Department at the university.

3- Ensuring the safety of chemical materials storage in laboratories in coordination with the Civil Defense representative.

4- Periodically checking the readiness of alarm systems and fire extinguishers inside the Faculty of Science building.

5- Ensuring the availability of spare copies in the Dean's office for all doors and external entrances of the Faculty of Science.

6- Checking the readiness of electrical circuit breakers and switches, and connecting laboratories with sensitive devices to the university's power generator.
