Quality Control Committee

The Quality Control Committee works to organize the activities of various committees in the Faculty of Science through the following tasks:

1- Supervising the distribution of the approved university quality control agenda to the academic departments in the Faculty.
2- Providing the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Science with weekly reports on the progress of work according to the approved university agenda.
3- Collecting reports from academic departments and committees at the Faculty level, then studying these reports to prepare a comprehensive report on behalf of the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Science.
4- Monitoring the work of various committees at the Faculty level.
5- Providing the needs and requirements of Faculty committees through the Dean's Office.

Scientific Research Committee

The Scientific Committee works to facilitate and organize scientific research activities in the Faculty of Science through the following tasks:

1- Organizing conferences, workshops, scientific seminars and science weeks in coordination with department heads in the Faculty of Science.
2- Providing opinions on research projects submitted for financial support purposes.
3- Providing opinions on financial support requests for participation in conference attendance.
4- Providing opinions on financial support requests for publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
5- Providing opinions on financial support requests for publishing textbooks.

Study Plan Committee

The Study Plan Committee in the Faculty of Science works to review proposed study plans for academic departments through the following:

1- Reviewing the structure of study plans and knowledge areas for specializations after referring to special accreditation standards for the specialization.
2- Studying the numbering of study plans according to field, academic year, and semester.
3- Studying the indicative plans for academic specializations in the Faculty of Science.
4- Reviewing study plans in both Arabic and English.
5- Reviewing course descriptions for study plans according to the approved template.
6- Reviewing the study plan template and course numbers in the major sheet template in both Arabic and English.

Library, Learning Resources and Laboratories Committee

1- Recommending the provision of books, references, scientific CDs and their updates.
2- Conducting periodic inventories of references, books and CDs that were previously requested.
3- Reviewing new research, references and scientific books for teaching purposes.
4- Ensuring the provision and distribution of books.
5- Monitoring student use of the library.
6- Coordinating with faculty members on the necessity of utilizing available scientific references.

Academic Advising and Student Engagement Committee

The Academic Advising and Student Engagement Committee works to organize the academic advising process and student engagement in the Faculty of Science through the following:

1- Organizing meetings of the Dean, department heads and faculty members with new students at the beginning of each semester, in coordination with the Vice Dean and department heads in the Faculty of Science.
2- Creating posters about the academic advising process on bulletin boards and corridors of the Faculty of Science.
3- Ensuring, in coordination with department heads and administrative staff in the Faculty of Science, that all forms related to the registration process are available at the Dean's Office and academic departments at the beginning of each semester.
4- Coordinating with the Faculty of Science registrar to distribute the university student handbook to new students in the Faculty of Science.
5- Selecting third or fourth year students to assist in welcoming new students at the Faculty.
6- Organizing, in coordination with department heads, a lecture for new instructors about the academic advising system at the university.

Cultural Committee / Faculty of Science Scientific Day Committee

The Scientific Day Committee works to organize the Faculty of Science Scientific Day through the following tasks:

1- Determining the proposed date for holding the Scientific Day on an annual basis.
2- Determining the topics of the Scientific Day.
3- Providing financial and logistical support for holding the Scientific Day through the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Science.
4- Supporting specialized professors and scientists in the Scientific Day topics to participate from outside the university.
5- Inviting alumni of academic departments in the Faculty of Science and representatives of related companies and institutions to attend.
6- Finding external sponsors to contribute to funding.

Website Development Committee

The Website Committee works to supervise the Faculty and academic departments' websites in the Faculty of Science through the following:

1- Designing the Faculty website in coordination with the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Science.
2- Designing websites for academic departments in coordination with department heads.
3- Updating the Faculty and academic departments' websites on a regular basis.
4- Ensuring, in coordination with academic department heads, the accuracy of materials posted on the websites.
5- Uploading announcements and materials related to the Faculty and academic departments in the Faculty of Science to the website.
6- Considering the opinions and suggestions of Faculty of Science students regarding the website to update it in accordance with the needs and aspirations of academic departments and students, at the end of each academic year.

Student Issues Committee

The Student Discipline Committee works to investigate violations by Faculty students within buildings, facilities, laboratories and classrooms affiliated with the Faculty of Science as follows:

1- Conducting informational lectures on the student discipline system and explaining violations and penalties.
2- Reviewing complaints received through the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Science.
3- Determining the type of student violation and recommending the appropriate penalty to the Dean of the Faculty of Science according to the university student discipline system.
4- Taking students' statements in writing during investigation processes and maintaining the confidentiality of committee work.
5- Urging colleagues in the Faculty of Science to guide students to improve their behavior inside and outside the university campus during lectures.

Social Committee

The Social Committee in the Faculty of Science works to strengthen the bonds of love and social cohesion among faculty, administrative staff and students in the Faculty of Science through the following activities:

1- Contributing to the proper organization of the Dean's meeting with faculty members at the beginning of each academic year.
2- Contributing to organizing the meeting of the Dean, Vice Dean, academic department heads and faculty members with new students.
3- Organizing the honoring of colleagues on special occasions.
4- Participating with faculty and administrative staff colleagues in the Faculty of Science in joyous and sorrowful occasions.
5- Contributing with all faculty and administrative staff members in the Faculty to participate in national occasions and celebrations.

Examinations Committee

The Examinations Committee works to manage midterm and final examinations in the Faculty of Science through the following:

1- Preparing the examination schedule according to the university calendar and in coordination with other faculties.
2- Ensuring the availability of the correct answer key.
3- Preparing a schedule for examination supervision.
4- Monitoring the progress of examinations and identifying problems and proposing appropriate solutions.
5- Ensuring that all examinations are reviewed by the internal examiner before printing.
6- Ensuring the proper printing and copying of examinations before conducting the examination.
7- Coordinating with relevant authorities for the disposal of examination papers and Faculty records as needed.
8- Supervising and monitoring the disposal process.

Safety and Security Committee

The Safety and Security Committee in the Faculty of Science works to ensure the safety of persons, buildings and classrooms through the following:

1- Ensuring the safety of buildings and public facilities within the Faculty of Science in coordination with the Services Department and Engineering Office at the university.
2- Ensuring the safety of classroom furniture at the beginning of each semester in coordination with the Maintenance Department at the university.
3- Ensuring the safe storage of chemicals in laboratories in coordination with the Civil Defense representative.
4- Periodically ensuring the readiness of alarm systems and fire extinguishers within the Faculty of Science building.
5- Ensuring the availability of additional copies in the Dean's Office for all doors and external entrances to the Faculty of Science.
6- Ensuring the readiness of circuit breakers and electrical switches and connecting laboratories with sensitive equipment to the power generator within the university.
