In compliance with its commitment to proceeding with the process of planning and development, and in response to the self-evaluation study which was launched in the second semester of the academic year 2010/2011 and the academic year 2011/2012, PU has adopted a strategic plan to meet future aspirations toward local, regional and international excellence. This plan was formulated based on the criteria and standards made by the Higher Education Accreditation Commission and in accordance with the Jordanian higher education national strategy for the period 2007-2012.The strategic plan has been drawn to cover a period of five years (2012-2017). This plan comprises ten strategic objectives and thirty four action plans with specific tasks. Furthermore, priorities in task implementation have been specified and they have been scheduled in accordance with the plan. An executive plan has been set to monitor the implementation of the tasks, re-evaluate performance according to certain key performance indicators and take necessary corrective measures when needed.

The University quality assurance Committee assisted by various teams drawn from the faculty and administrative staff were utilized in making this plan. Faculty members, students and university councils have participated in the surveys made in the preliminary stages of the plan. All elements of the plan have been discussed with the University’s higher administration and the Council of Deans and the final version of the plan has been approved by the Board of Trustees.
