Preparing and administering Arabic and English language placement exams for incoming students. Based on results, the appropriate course is assigned — students who fail must take remedial Arabic or remedial English, while those who pass enroll in Communication Skills (Arabic) and Communication Skills (English).
Teaching non-degree languages such as European languages (French, Italian, Spanish, and German) and Eastern languages (Hebrew, Persian, and Turkish), as well as any other languages deemed necessary by the university.
Building productive local and international partnerships that open opportunities for students to apply practical aspects of their courses — including volunteering, entrepreneurship, leadership, management, language development, and other areas the department aims to cultivate among university students.
Conducting language training courses for university students, staff, and community members in cooperation with the university's Development and Training Center.
Supervising language preparation programs for TOEFL and IELTS exams, and teaching the English language preparatory program course for postgraduate students.
Developing Arabic language teaching programs for non-native speakers and coordinating with the university's marketing office to attract international students from within Jordan and abroad.
Organizing diverse activities inside and outside the university that reinforce the humanities fundamentals related to the department's knowledge domains.
